Colégio Bandeirantes de São Paulo
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Colégio Bandeirantes is a private secondary school located in São Paulo. Opened in 1934, it has been at the forefront of education since then. Its long-standing reputation not only draws students from many parts of the city but also from different states of Brazil.
It is a co-educational, privately funded institution which offers middle school and senior high programs to 2,770 students. It is said to be a nonsectarian school, although most students happen to be jews or of asian descent due to the high cost of this school and the economic power of these groups in São Paulo.
As a very competitive school, the students are ranked and placed in different classrooms according to the final average grade of the previous year. The students are college-oriented and regarded as high achievers, helping to build the school's fame and to keep up its standards.
Bandeirantes' president director, Mauro de Salles Aguiar, also participates in the advisory council of São Paulo's Harvard office.
