Cokesbury
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cokesbury is the retail division of the United Methodist Publishing House. While it is an agency of the United Methodist Church, Cokesbury serves Christians of all denominations. It is also the official retail outlet of the Presbyterian Church (USA), the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and the Episcopal Church.
The name Cokesbury is a combination of the last names of two early American Methodist leaders, Thomas Coke and Francis Asbury.
The old Cokesbury store in downtown Dallas, Texas was among the largest bookstores in the United States, in terms of both physical size and retail sales.
