Cohn & Wolfe is a strategic marketing public relations firm dedicated to creating, building and protecting the world’s most prolific brands. Historical Timeline
1970 - Cohn & Wolfe is founded by Bob Cohn and Norm Wolfe in Atlanta, Georgia.
1979 - The Coca-Cola Company awards Cohn & Wolfe its Olympic public relations activities for the 1980 Winter Games in Lake Placid, sparking Cohn & Wolfe’s long and successful history with Olympic sponsorships.
1984 - Cohn & Wolfe is acquired by Young & Rubicam Inc. (Y&R). In addition, Cohn & Wolfe opens its office in New York, which later becomes known as the Company’s world headquarters.
1989 - Cohn & Wolfe expands its global operations with new offices in London, UK and Toronto, Canada.
1995 - Cohn & Wolfe opens three new offices in Los Angeles, California, Montreal, Canada and Milan, Italy.
1997 - Cohn & Wolfe opens up the Frankfurt office (November).
2000 - The Y&R family of companies is acquired by the even larger powerhouse of WPP, giving Cohn & Wolfe access to unprecedented global resources for a firm its size. Also, Cohn & Wolfe opens the Madrid office in September and the San Francisco office in March of that year.
2001 - Cohn & Wolfe acquires Springbok Technologies, Texas’s largest independent public relations firm, specializing in technology PR (May). Also, Cohn & Wolfe opens the Geneva office (January).
2003 - Cohn & Wolfe achieves #1 ranking for creativity, strategy and overall quality in 2002 Thomas L. Harris/Impulse Research Survey, the largest and most comprehensive survey in the field of public relations.
