Cognis is a German based specialty chemical company. It was created in 2001 as a Spin off from Henkel. It has net outside sales of about $3.5 billion, and has about 8000 employees. It is organised in 5 business units:

  • Care Chemicals.
  • Nutrition & Health.
  • Functional Products.
  • Process Chemicals.
  • Oleochemicals.

Cognis recently bought French specialty chemical company Laboratoires Serobiologiques.
