Talk:Coalition to Stop the Use of Child Soldiers
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
England recruits soldiers as young as 15 years, 9 months. The US enlists 17-year-olds.
So how this will apply to the world's leading English-speaking countries (and chief defenders of the free world) is interesting. England might ratify the protocol, but Bush probably won't.
The main problem, in my opinion, is in nations like The Sudan where pre-teenagers are outside the view of parents, get rounded up and placed in the military. like child labor there should be a minimum age where this is allowed. AlMac|(talk) 17:15, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Categories
There have been several requests to try to organize Category Military since it has over 50 articles and over 50 sub-categories. I am trying to help out, by adding a new sub-category Politics of Military, which will include this, and other articles on the topic of very young children being made into child soldiers, also issues of gender, different religions side by side, conscientious objector and so forth.
