The coat of arms of the Azerbaijan SSR was adopted in 1937 by the government of the Azerbaijan SSR.

The coat of arms features a drilling rig representing Baku's wealthy oil reservoirs and behind it a sun rise. The hammer and sickle are prominently featured above it while the red star sits at the top of the emblem. The outer rim features wheat and cotton.
