Cnemidophorus tigris Baird and Girard, 1852 |
The marbled whiptail (Cnemidophorus tigris= Aspidoscelis tigris) ranges throughout most of the southwestern United States. Key differences between them and the checkered whiptail (Aspidoscelis tesselata = Cnemidophorus tesselatus) would be the lack of enlarged scales anterior to the gular fold and the presence of enlarged antebatrachial scales. This lizard is most famous for same-sex reproduction.
