Islam: What the West Needs to Know - Islam, violence, and the fate of the non-Muslim world is a documentary featuring expert commentators on Islam such as Robert Spencer , Bat Ye'or, Walid Shoebat and Serge Trifkovic.
The documentary is divided into six parts[1]
- In the first part the experts who are interviewed argue that Islamic violence stems from the teachings and examples of Muhammad and that the Qu'ran prescribes and sanctions violence against non-Muslims.
- In the second part Walid Shoebat discusses the meaning of Jihad as being a holy war against the non-Muslim world to bring it under the rule of Islam.
- In the third part Robert Spencer discusses the historical expansion of Islam by the sword in which he documents the fighting, enslaving, and massacring countless Christians, Jews, and Zoroastrians"
- In the fourth part Robert Spencer and Serge Trifkovic discuss the Islamic principle of Taqiyya, Islamic Dissimulation, which enjoins Muslims to deceive non-Muslims in order to advance the cause of Islam"
- In the fifth part the documentary claims that "Islamic law governs every aspect of religious, political, and personal action, which amounts to a form of totalitarianism that is divinely enjoined to dominate the world, analogous in many ways to Communism"
- In the final part the two house of Islam are discussed, Dar al-Islam the land under the control of the Muslims and the house of war or Dar al-Harb the land of the Non Muslims which Muslims are enjoined to bring under the control of Islam. "Muslims in Western nations are called to subvert the secular regimes in which they now live in accordance with Allah's command".
The film premiered at the American Film Renaissance Festival in Hollywood on Jan 15, 2006.
