[edit] Why is Around The World in capitals?

You seem to do know more about that single and in some cases the official title is capitals only, but I don't know whether it applies here. Dr Debug (Talk) 04:27, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Mediation Case: Anti-Brahmanism

You have indicated that you are willing to accept an assignment as a mediator. I have assigned this case to you. If you don't want to take the case on, just say so at the bottom of the request, delegate it to someone else and update the case list accordingly. Before you begin the mediation please read the suggestions for mediators. You can also review earlier mediation cases to get an understanding for possible procedures.

[edit] Missing Edit Summary

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.

[edit] The mediation thing

You asigned to me something about brahmism but i'm sorry i didn't understood before when i said "yes" that i wanted to be a mediator. As i'm not a native english speaker, i can't help you guys like i would to. I don't think i can do that thing... and i didn't understand where i have to say that i don't want to do that, please help me. Thank You :) - Clouded 17:27, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

Alright, you don't have to take a mediation case. It is entirely voluntary. Can you explain to me why you misunderstood the question? Reply --Fasten 20:21, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Around the World (song)

[edit] Mediation request for Ayumi Hamasaki

Hi. I am responding to your request for mediation on the above article. I have reviewed the history of the edits made, and it seems to me that the problem is a simple disagreement about the facts of her real name. Can you provide any references to confirm what her 'legal' name is? I note that the anon editor in question has not edited the article for a while so the issue may have resolved itself. Should the name be removed again, I suggest that you do not reinsert it as that may simply provoke the situation. Lets work to resolve it on the article talk page first, then once consensus is reached the article can be edited. The problem does not seem major enough to warrent protecting the page from the user in question, if evidence is presented as to why the article should be a certain way, it should resolve itself. [edit] Image Tagging Image:Ami Suzuki.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Ami Suzuki.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey 01:53, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Question

Hey, I was wondering which page it was that provided the new template for musicians since you provided the one for DAI, thanks! Bakahito 17:55, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

Hey, thanks for replying, but then i found the actual link to the template Template:Infobox musical artist 2 later on the edit page, thanks a lot though! -Bakahito 16:22, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ichiro Ito vs. Ichirō Itō

I'm curious why you are so intent on keeping the article at Ichiro Ito when the Wikipedia:Manual of Style (Japan-related articles) clearly states that it should be at Ichirō Itō. You've reverted every effort made to bring this article (and related articles) in line with Wikipedia establish guidelines. Please let me know your thoughts on this. Thanks! (^_^) --日本穣 Nihonjoe 00:29, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

From the link you gave me:
Articles should use macrons except in cases where the macronless spelling is in common usage in English-speaking countries (e.g., Tokyo, Osaka, Sumo and Shinto, instead of Tōkyō, Ōsaka, Sumō and Shintō). I can't find it right now but i saw another thing saying that names should have those ō when you're refering to the pronunciation. Clouded 00:49, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
Here it's something:
Names of modern figures
For a modern figure (a person born from the first year of Meiji (1868) onward), always use the Western order of given name + family name. For example:
Junichiro Koizumi (小泉 純一郎 Koizumi Jun'ichirō, born January 8, 1942) is a Japanese politician …
Macron usage in the name of a modern figure should adhere to the following, in order of preference:
Use the official trade name if available in English/Latin alphabet;
Use the form found in a dictionary entry from a generally-accepted English dictionary;
Use the form publicly used on behalf of the person in the English-speaking world;
Use the form publicly used on behalf of the person in any other popular Latin-alphabet-using language (French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German, and Dutch, or variations); or
If none of the above is available, use the macronned form.

Clouded 00:53, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
Okay, but none of that explains why you keep using Ichiro Ito instead of Ichirō Itō. All you're doing is quoting things, not explaining why. --日本穣 Nihonjoe 02:12, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Hayashibara_Megumi.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. [edit] Image:RainbowPromoPic.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:RainbowPromoPic.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Chowbok 18:35, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Daddy black white 2.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Daddy black white 2.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.

Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 20:57, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
