The clouded angelshark, Squatina nebulosa, is an angel shark of the family Squatinidae found in the northwest Pacific from the southeastern Sea of Japan to Taiwan, including Japan, Korea, and China, between latitudes 47° N and 22° N. Its length is up to 1.63 m.
The little-known clouded angelshark is found on the continental shelves. The nasal barbels are simple and tapering, and the anterior nasal flaps are smooth. The head is concave between the large eyes. There are no enlaged thorns.
Coloration is brownish to bluish-brown with scattered light spots and many small black bots. There is a large rounded dark spot at the base of each pectoral fin, and dark blotches below the dorsal fins. Pale underneath, with darker pectoral fin margins.
Reproduction is ovoviviparous.
