[edit] History

The name "Close Encounters" from movie Close Encounters of the third kind (Steven Spielberg) is the Fanfare Let there be light (Intro). 'This symbol shows, that "we are not alone"', Robbie said before the tour. The show is a little "Space-show"...

[edit] Support Acts

The Ordinary Boys were originally meant to be one of the support acts, but dropped out at the last minute. Orson took their place going on first.

Basement Jaxx were the top support act, which surprised many people, as the band are doing their own sold out arena tour in December. Many thought that the Jaxx were too big to do a support slot. The support slot also conicides with the release of their latest album, Crazy Itch Radio.

Basement Jaxx did not tour on the Americas. In Buenos Aires, La Portuaria, an argentinean band reminiscent of David Byrne was chosen to support. The supporting act in Cape Town was the local afro-fusion band Freshly Ground, who has the hit single doo be doo. The supporting act in Australia is Sneaky Sound System.
