[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Pan American World Airways1.jpg)
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Pan American World Airways1.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that your image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If your image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why your image was deleted. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 23:12, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Use of commas in dates
I don't see anywhere else in Wikipedia where this system is being implimented. And in case you didn't read this website's Manual of Style, it isn't necessary to put commas after dates. I know you're a copy editor, but this book doesn't define Wikipedia style and some of it's "rules" that are in it, but not on wikipedia, shouldn't be followed. Even the wikipedia article you showed me said that the book had only a limited number of followers. --NcSchu 15:15, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Trinity Pic
I was just wondering why you deleted the Trinity pic from the San Antonio colleges gallery. The pic was never erased from wikipedia. Dknights411 20:17, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
- It's OK. I'm just kinda proud of that picture because I took it ;-) Anyway, the Trinity pic come out just fine on my computer. If it's at all possibe, you might want to check a second computer just to make sure if everything's all right. Dknights411 03:34, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pan Am Railways / Pan Am Systems
Hello,
Thank you for redirecting the Guilford Rail System and Guilford Transportation Industries pages to new pages for Pan Am Railways and Pan Am Systems, respectively. I've been wanting to do that, but I'm still a newbie and wasn't sure how.
Is there a "Wikipedia For Dummies" book available? ;-) That's what I need!

Thanks for the help. I, too, wish there was a "Wikiediting for Dummies" book, or at least a pdf --Orange Mike 00:14, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

Please stop your edit war with Downwards. Anyone who takes the time to check online (as I did, I know nothing about basketball) can see that Salmons was associated with the Spurs, but is no longer a team member. The two of you are the only ones editing this article, so please decide how to deal witht this argument. --Iriseyes 05:26, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry. This was a case where I reacted negatively to Downwards personal attacks. A review of his Talk page shows he frequently does this to other editors. Clipper471 21:59, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] professional basketball players
Don't have to playing in the United States to be considered professionals. Please stop removing the word professional from the Igor Rakočević article. Thank you. // Laughing Man 15:10, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry. The edit has been restored. The removal was accidently made during other reversions. (See above.) Clipper471 22:00, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

- Thanks. This was warranted. I reacted negatively to Downwards personal attacks, particularly his Christ give this guy a brain comment he made in an edit summary in my first interaction with him. Will keep my cool. Clipper471 22:03, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] A few comments
Hi Clipper471. We may or may not have interacted in the past, but whenever I see your name on an NBA or San Antonio Spurs related edit, I never have to check it, because I know you are very knowledgable in those subjects, and always have great edits to improve the encyclopedia. However, your recent edit wars with Downwards have been very disconcerting. I understand that you feel he has violated a few Wikipedia guidelines, including NPA and 3RR, but I remind you that it takes at least two to edit war. In the future, I hope the two of you can work out your differences on the article talk pages, or at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject National Basketball Association. Edit wars are unproductive for many reasons, including that they cloud page histories, create bad feelings between editors, and take up huge amounts of time from otherwise very productive editors. Thanks for your understanding, and I hope you and Downwards can get along better in the future; having you blocked is a major detriment to the quality of the encyclopedia. Let me know if you have any questions or comments. Cheers, EWS23 (Leave me a message!) 22:28, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

- Please do not involve shared company IP addresses when you are involved with disputes with others here at Wikipedia. You're going to affect more than just yourself when you do. -- 12.106.111.10 18:00, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks
Thank you so much for your help with Willowbrook Mall. Postoak 22:03, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

- Looks great, no question about notability. Do you think that a new category "Retail in Houston" would be appropriate for malls, shopping districts and Houston stores (if any exist)? Thanks Postoak 20:26, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
You are invited to participate in Wikipedia:WikiProject Houston, a project dedicated to developing and improving articles about Houston and related areas. Currently, we are discussing prospects for the project. Your input would be greatly appreciated! |
[edit] Alamo Bowl
I was looking at your edits to Alamo Bowl, and I was very impressed. However, what concerns me is that all other bowl game articles are listed by Winning Team/Losing Team, and without ranks. I was wondering if you were planning to do this for other bowls. If so, great, but if not, I'll have to revert your for consistency's sake. If you have any questions, please contact me at my talk page. Ian Manka 00:14, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Edit summary
When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. --Geniac 16:36, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Lord & Taylor
Hello. I'm very sorry that your edits to Lord & Taylor became collateral damage in the huge revert I had to do the other day. I was aware that some likely legitimate edits would be undone; but unfortunately another well intentioned editor, in an attempt to get the article to a version before the vandalism started, reverted all the citations and manual of style changes I had put into the Current stores section. Since there are no citations for the Former stores section, I really have no way to tell what's fact and what's fiction anyway so I have no real basis to pick and choose which edits to keep or delete down there. If you have a reference for the former stores section, could you please cite it, or -if it's online- share it with me and I'll cite it myself? Thanks so much for helping out on the article, and again please accept my apologies for deleting your edits along with the rest the other day. --Elipongo (Talk|contribs) 15:55, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
