Cliff Woodbury

Cliff Woodbury (8 July 1894 Chicago, Illinois13 November 1984 Alton, Illinois)was an American racecar driver. After crashing on the thrid lap of the 1929 Indianapolis 500, Woodbury becomes the first Indy pole-sitter to finish in last place. This feat will not be repeated until Pancho Carter retires with mechanical problems six laps into the 1985 Indianapolis 500.
