Cliff Woodbury (8 July 1894 Chicago, Illinois – 13 November 1984 Alton, Illinois)was an American racecar driver. After crashing on the thrid lap of the 1929 Indianapolis 500, Woodbury becomes the first Indy pole-sitter to finish in last place. This feat will not be repeated until Pancho Carter retires with mechanical problems six laps into the 1985 Indianapolis 500.
