Cliff Diving is the fourth single to be released/leaked by the band +44. Their debut album, "When Your Heart Stops Beating", was released November 14. It starts off fast paced and moves to a moderato verse. The song was released as a 7" single shipped as a bundle with pre-orders of "When Your Heart Stops Beating" in USA. According to the band leader, Mark Hoppus, "Cliff Diving" is the song that resembles the musical style of blink-182 (the band he and +44 drummer Travis Barker were in before the split in 2005) the most on this album.
[edit] Meaning of the song
In an interview Mark Hoppus mentioned that the name of the song - Cliff Diving - came from his childhood when his friends used to jump off the roof of a house into a pool and called it "cliff diving" due to the similarity.
[edit] Facts
