Cleo Lemon (born August 16, 1979 in Greenwood, Mississippi) is an American football player who currently is a backup quarterback for the Miami Dolphins.

Lemon played in 42 games during four-year career at Arkansas State University. He is the all-time career yardage leader in school history (7,706), completed college career averaging most yards per game in school history (178.3) and second all-time in yards per game in single season (206.7), was the only quarterback in school history to pass for over 400 yards in a game (403) He also passed for a school record 49 touchdowns during career and holds the record for most passes completed (551).

In 2002, Lemon was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Baltimore Ravens but was released prior to the regular season.
[edit] San Diego Chargers
Lemon was signed by the San Diego Chargers on April 4, 2003. He was waived prior to the start of the season, then re-signed to the Chargers' practice squad where he spent the entire 2003 season.
In 2004, Lemon was on the active roster for San Diego all 16 games as the No. 4 quarterback. Though teams rarely keep more than three quarterbacks, a holdout by 2004 first-round pick Philip Rivers caused the rookie to miss nearly all of training camp. As a result, the team retained starter Drew Brees and Doug Flutie along with Rivers and Lemon for the entire season.
In the 2005 preseason, Lemon completed 34 of 49 passes (69.4%) for 369 yards with three touchdowns, no interceptions and a passer rating of 111.7. He served as the team's third-string quarterback until October 18, 2005, when he was traded to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for quarterback A.J. Feeley and a fifth-round draft choice.

Lemon served as the Dolphins' third-string quarterback behind Gus Frerotte and Sage Rosenfels during 11 contests in 2005, but did not see any action.
In the 2006 preseason, Lemon he was 42-59 for 450 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions for a rating of 104.5. In his start on August 31 against the St. Louis Rams, he has 21-27 for 271 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions for a rating of 120.8. Lemon served as the third-string quarterback for the first four games of 2006, and is currently the backup behind starter Joey Harrington while Daunte Culpepper continues to rehab his knee. Rookie wide receiver and former Virginia Tech quarterback Marcus Vick is currently listed as the No. 3 "emergency" quarterback on the depth chart.
