ClearSpeed

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

ClearSpeed is a company that develops processors for supercomputers. It originally manufactured network processors, but discontinued.

Although ClearSpeed processors have fairly fast clock speeds, the older models did not support multi-precision arithmetic, limiting their uses.

However, ClearSpeed processors are part of the currently ninth most powerful supercomputer on the TOP500 list.

In March 2006, AMD considered working with ClearSpeed for math processors. [1]
