[edit] Captain America

I've been reading a wide variety of British newspapers for years, and have never, ever heard Reyna referred to as "Captain America". Injury-prone, yes, Captain America no.

I differ

Google: "captain america" "claudio reyna" = 767 hits

Google: "injury prone" "claudio reyna" = 349 hits.

Google: "captain america" "claudio reyna" site:.uk = 22 hits

You will noticed he is refered to as "Captain America" while at Manchester City, Sunderland or Rangers. In fact, the Ranger's own official site refer to him as "Captain America".

My bad, I'd never heard it, but I should have given you credit that you'd done your homework. Sorry.

[edit] First American in World Cup all-star team?

"He became the first American ever named to the World Cup's all-tournament team."

According to the article England v United States (1950), John Souza from the U.S. team was selected to a World Cup All-Star team in the 1950 tournament. One of these articles probably needs a correction? --Jonik 15:41, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

He was the first American in the starting line-up of the World Cup all-star team. Or at least that's what a little info box said during a match. Maybe that's the difference. -Iopq 19:20, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Info box?

See Brian McBride, shouldn't Reyna have one of these, too? Here's a start:

Bobby Convey has an info box, too. Why not Captian America? Dharris 16:36, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

Probably should use the standard from the WikiProject Football, Players Formating (which is basically identical to what you have...). It would be nice to clean up all the pages for US national team players too.--Yukata Ninja 22:46, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
I had a similar thought after I posted my above comments. Should we start a project on this and perhaps solicit help from fans at bigsoccer.com? -- Dharris 14:36, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
Project begun. Please feel free to help and edit at User:Dharris/player cleanup -- Dharris 15:34, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] POV

"frequently recognized as one of the most skillful ever to play for the United States" 1. This looks POV to me and needs a source 2. As someone who regularly sees Reyna play, I think the US team is in trouble if this is true :p Oldelpaso 18:40, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ethnicity?

His name is Latinate, but what country are his ancestors from? I'm just curious. -Iopq 14:57, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Argentina and Portugal, as stated in the article. Oldelpaso 15:48, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
