Claudia Hanna is a 21 year old Assyrian Christian. Hanna and her family fled Iraq for Syria after the 2003 invasion, citing Islamic extremism percecution, like many other Assyrians.

She is the current Miss Iraq 2006, having received the title after the winner, Silva Shahakian, resigned amid security fears. Much like her predecessor, Hanna has also received death threats. [1]

On September 9, 2006, Hanna won the Miss Arab World pageant which was held in Sharm Al-Sheikh, Egypt.
