Claude Bourgelat

Claude Bourgelat (born March 27, 1712 at Lyon; died January 3, 1779) was a famous French veterinary surgeon.
He was the founder of veterinary colleges at Lyon in 1762, as well as an authority on horse management, and often consulted on the matter.
He was a member of the French Academy of Science.
Bourgelat also contributed to the Encyclopédie.
