[edit] Buildings

Clarkstown South consists of one building. The building includes a main lobby, large auditorium where many county events occur, a music wing, gym, and three floors of classrooms.

[edit] Expansion

In the fall of 2005, a planetarium was built in the rear of the building.

[edit] Mascot and Colors

Clarkstown South's mascot is the Viking and the school colors are brown and gold. It is rumored that those colors were chosen by the 8th grade Felix Festa Middle School (then Felix Festa Junior High School) class as a joke when the new high school was first opened, though this rumor is largely unsubstantiated.

[edit] Rival

Although Clarkstown South does not have an official "rival" school, it is widely accepted that Clarkstown High School North is its main rival in sports. The varsity football teams annually play each other, and the South vs. North game is usually South's homecoming game.

[edit] Music Department

South's music department is led by Mr. Jim Fogarty and Mr. Matt Hommez. South offers many music ensembles; chorus, orchestra, jazz band, marching band, concert band, troubadors, ars musica, tri-m, and many others. Some students participate in more than one.
