Clarence E. Case

Clarence Edward Case (b. September 24, 1877, Jersey City, New Jersey - d. 1961) was the acting Republican Governor of New Jersey in 1920, succeeding William Nelson Runyon.

Case was a lawyer. From 1910 to 1913, he was a member of the New Jersey Senate representing Somerset County. He later became an Associate Justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court from 1929 to 1946, and 1948-1952, and was the Chief Justice from 1946-1948.
