Clarence (carriage)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A clarence or Growler was a type of carriage popular in the 19th century. It was a four-wheeled horse-driven vehicle with a glass front and room for four passengers. The driver sat at the front, outside the carriage. It was named after Prince William, Duke of Clarence and St Andrews, later to become King William IV and was first introduced in 1840 in London.
