Clairalience

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Clairalience [presumably from late 17th century French clair (clear) & alience (smelling)] is a form of extra-sensory perception wherein a person acquires psychic knowledge primarily by means of smelling.[1]

Clairalience is very common in areas believed to be haunted, but is also believed to be an indication of the presence of a deceased loved one. It is thought to be a method of the dead communicating with the living. This is considered a form of clairvoyance.
