The Category link (cl) template is used to display a category name as a link to the category. It is a companion to {{tl}}, which serves the same purpose for templates.

The link is now piped to the name of the category prefixed with "Cat:" to help indicate that this is a link to a category. DES (talk) 13:32, 12 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Cat → Category
Does anyone object to just spelling the word out properly? There's no need not to since its in a template, and it could then usefully be used in nomination titles over at WP:CFD where by convention we use the full word. -Splashtalk 19:15, 26 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Hey!?
Hey!? Who stuffed around with the template? it was deliberately left at just Cat: so as not to take up space! Increasing it to its fuull length means its no longer useful for sfd-current. Grutness...wha? 08:21, 30 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] change cat to category
I feel it's unnceissary to only type Cat in the tempalte, and not Category. →AzaToth 16:09, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
- See the section right above this one. Perhaps there is space for both an abbreviated and a non-abbreviated template? Kusma (討論) 16:44, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
