The opening sentence is a little unclear:

CKVU's history dates back to 1975, when Western Approaches Ltd. was awarded the third license for a Vancouver television station by the CRTC.

Third license for the city? For the company? Just thought that could use a bit of clarification. --216.13.216.218 21:22, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

  • I took out the part about CityNews International. My understading is that there is such a program; however CHUM is running it as a segment A Channel news @ 6 and not on CKVU. I'm in the building right now, and that is the buzz I hear. --Globalist1789 21:16, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Elimination of local news

In July 2006 CHUM-City laid off a bunch of workers at CKVU and shut down most of its local news office. This should be mentioned in the article somewhere. 23skidoo 16:23, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
