Talk:CKDU-FM

Er, CKDUs budget mostly comes from the student levy. I changed that part, as it is proveably false. Also, CKDU has never not taken ads, but has rarely, though maybe now does, take pre-produced spots (ie straight up commercials like Q104). Someone more current as a volunteer should confirm this, though I listen and never hear any commercials, just the same "tonight at the bar" type ads I have been hearing since 1986. I did not change this part as I want a confirmation from someone else (or I will list all this week and see for myself). WayeMason
- My sources for most of the statements in this article are my memories of working @ CKDU as a volunteer, and received wisdom from other volunteers and my father who worked there briefly in his university days, so the stuff about CKDUs finances/advertising activities is probably not entirely accurate. The stuff about the ads was just from my experience as a volunteer- when I started, we never had to do anything other than community announcements, about 9mo or a year later we started getting the bar ads and stuff and someone told me that was new. So you're probably right!! (I was 2 years old in 1986, so your CKDU listenning experience vastly exceeds mine). --Veritol 07:23, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

- I think its funny that I have been complaining about how hard CKDU was to pick up since 1985, sitting behind Ellenvale Junior High, holding my walkman out at arms length and waving it around trying to optimise my signal... finally... high power this month? Amazing! I heard commercial ads on the station now, too. WayeMason 12:16, 16 November 2005 (UTC)
