CJPG-FM (96.5 FM, "Mix 96.5") is a radio station broadcasting a classic hits format. Licensed to Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, it serves the Central Plains region of Manitoba. It first began broadcasting on May 4th2004. The station is currently owned by Golden West Broadcasting.
Mix 96.5 FM launched with the flip of a switch and the Rolling Stones "Start Me Up" after a great deal of anticipation. Veteran Broadcaster Sandra Dee brought 20 years experience with her and was the driving force behind the launch and the first 2 years of the stations operations as Program Director and afternoon host. Sandra left Mix 96.5 FM in March of 2006.
The Morning Show team of Mike Nagle and Diane Miller have been waking up the central plains region for the last two years. Mike and Diane in the Morning focuses on what is happening in the Central Plains Region of Manitoba with a sense of humour.
Mike Nagle has over 7 years experience in radio having cut his teeth in the Winnipeg radio market at The Superstation CJOB 68 as Morning Show Producer and Weekend Morning Show Host. He left the big city for a taste of small town life and a great Morning Show gig.
Diane Miller is a veteran broadcaster having spent the early part of her career as a news anchor with the Manitoba Television Network. Later she spent a number of years working with a government agency, but the call of the microphone lured her back to morning radio.
Sheri Wylie fills your afternoons with classic hits, contests and fun from noon to 6 pm. Sheri started with Golden West Radio as the afternoon news voice on Mix 96.5 FM and moved into the air chair in the spring of 2006.
