Rise and Fall: Civilizations at War is s real-time strategy game developed by Rick Goodman and his game studio, Stainless Steel Studios. The game is published by Midway Games and was released on June 12, 2006. The player is brought to the ancient world where four different civilizations battle for dominance: Persia, Greece, Egypt, and Rome. The game offers 80 unique units, developed graphics, and promises multiplay of up to eight players. The game also allows players to command some of the greatest historical figures in the ancient world: Julius Caesar, Germanicus Caesar, Cleopatra, Ramses the Great, Nebuchadnezzar, Sargon, Achilles, and Alexander the Great; each with their own unique abilities and weapons.

The game was almost completed, however, when Stainless Steel Studios shut down all operations and abandoned all current projects, including Rise And Fall. [1] [2] Despite the shutdown of Stainless Steel Studios, Midway was determined to continue the game's development and ship it to stores. This finally happened on June 12, 2006. [3]

[edit] Easter Eggs

With good aim and Alexander the Great's firebow, you can pull off a special "dancing fire zombie" attack that is both deadly and hilarious.[4]

In the Basic Concepts tutorial, you can summon the monster "Kraken" after using your hero to swim to an island in the corner of the map. You must hit a treasure chest surrounded by snakes with the sword. Bring your hero to the "ancient bridge" and go into the third person hero mode. A giant monster that looks like Godzilla will appear and help defeat nearby enemies only while you are in hero mode.[5]
