Shellharbour City Council adminsters Shellharbour, New South Wales, a city of about 60,000 people. It is located in the Illawarra region, on the east coast of Australia, about 100 km south of Sydney.
It is bordered by City of Wollongong City to the north, and Municipality of Kiama to the south. It is on the southern side of Lake Illawarra.
It contains the suburbs of Shellharbour Village, Shell Cove, Warilla, Barrack Heights, Barrack Point, Oak Flats, Flinders, Mount Warrigal, Blackbutt, Albion Park and Albion Park Rail.
