The City of Rockingham is a Local Government Area of Western Australia. It covers an area of approximately 260 km² in southern metropolitan Perth, the capital of Western Australia and lies about 50 km south of the Perth CBD. The City of Rockingham has a population of 70,000.

Rockingham Road Board was gazetted in 1897. On 1 July 1961, it became a Shire Council following changes to the Local Government Act. On 12 November 1988 it attained City status.[1]
