The City of Greater Geelong is a Local Government Area in Victoria, Australia.
It is located in the western part of the state, south-west of Melbourne. It has an area of 1,240 square kilometres. In 2001 it had a population of 191,000. It is an amalgamation of former municipalities Barrabool, Bannockburn, Bellarine, Corio, Geelong, Geelong West, Newtown, and South Barwon.
