City Channel is a cable television channel operating in Dublin, Republic of Ireland. They are licenced by the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland for cable and MMDS operation, and have secured carriage on the formerly NTL owned digital cable system in Dublin. It is the first attempt at a commercial local television network in Ireland and indeed the first attempt at a commercial cable-only channel in the country.

On 16 September 2005 the channel was added to NTL Ireland's electronic programme guide on Channel 107, and programming began on 4 October.

The company, which is headed by former Radio Telefís Éireann (RTÉ) presenter David Harvey, also intends to open City Channels for Galway and Waterford in early 2006, and possibly Cork in time - each will have about 85% shared content with the rest being local content. Programming from the Dublin channel will be shared with these. Harvey also is a shareholder in independent local radio station Dublin's Country Mix 106.8.

Six people, beyond presenting staff, will be employed initially in Donnybrook, Dublin. The channel will be broadcast at 110,000 people[citation needed] with the potential for broader reception along the east coast possibly reaching 500,000 in the future.[citation needed]

The channels programming lineup announced to date includes a Polish language magazine show, partially imported from TVP, called Oto Polska, televised coverage of FM104's Adrian Kennedy Phone Show and a magazine show for the LGBT community called Free To Express. A large number of other shows have been named and appear to be mostly home-produced.

Their website names fifteen "personalities", or show presenters, many of which come from Dublin's radio stations or RTÉ, including Ray Shah from Big Brother (UK) and Q102 who presents a behind-the-scenes music show called 'Access All Areas' and City Channels night time schedule called 'On The Box', also Tony Colley presents an in-depth look at the latest cars called 'Ignition'.
