Ciarán Farrell

Ciarán Farrell is a full time composer living and working in Ireland. He has been active in his field since graduating from Trinity College Dublin. He also studied with renowned film composer Ennio Morricone at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, Italy.

He has received commissions from dance companies Irish Modern Dance Theatreand Cois Ceim and has also received commissions from RTÉ Lyric FM (RTÉ CO), Gerard McChrystal, The Smith Quartet, Dowdall/Feeley duo, Katie McMahon, Concorde, and John Feeley amongst others.

He has also worked on numerous TV/Film productions including the internationally broadcast series Divine Magic and Eyes on the World. Other production companies worked with include C4, Discovery Channel, RTÉ, TG4, Littlebird Pictures, Decent Suit and Non Fiction Films. Ciaran has also been commissioned to compose music for numerous commercials/inserts including the highly successful Heineken and Shell campaigns.

Recordings for a new album of his music are presently in the editing phase and will be released on the RTÉ Lyric FM label in the Spring of next year.

His music will also be released on numerous other CDs this year including Pluck Blow McChrystal/Ogden, McChrystal/The Smith and The RIAM Percussion Ensemble releases. He is also due to compose a new work for a McChrystal/Codetta CD due to be recorded in the new year. A guitar concerto for Craig Ogden is also presently in development.

Ciarán wrote the title track for Katie McMahon's album, Shine, (Katie is the original voice of Riverdance) and the original solo guitar version of 'The Shannon Suite' can be heard on John Feeley's album E-Motion. John Feeley and Bill Dowdall are also due to release a new album in the not too distant future which will include one of Ciarán's works.
