[edit] Welcome!

Hi Chuuumus, and a warm welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you have enjoyed editing as much as I did so far and decide to stay. Unfamiliar with the features and workings of Wikipedia? Don't fret! Be Bold! Here's some good links for your reference and that'll get you started in no time!

Most Wikipedians would prefer to just work on articles of their own interest. But if you have some free time to spare, here are some open tasks that you may want to help out :

  • RC Patrol - Keeping a lookout for vandalism.
  • Cleanup - Help make unreadable articles readable.
  • Requests - Wanted on WP, but hasn't been created.
  • Merge - Combining duplicate articles into one.
  • Wikiprojects - So many to join, so many to choose from...Take your pick!

Oh yes, don't forget to sign when you write on talk pages, simply type four tildes, like this: ~~~~. This will automatically add your name and the time after your comments. And finally, if you have any questions or doubts, don't hesitate to contact me on my talk page. Once again, welcome! =)

[edit] Image:Studentcenter screenshot.jpg listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded, Image:Studentcenter screenshot.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

hey there! you added the above image to List of social networking sites yet StudentCenter.com isn't a social networking site, and isn't in the list. Since that is the only article which was using the image, I've listed it for deletion. If you wish to comment on this, please see it's listing at the above link. Thanks. [edit] The Student Center

hey there... thanks for your message regarding The Student Center. I think there's some confusion... I only removed the screenshot which you added to List of social networking sites since the site wasn't included in our list, and because from what I could see at a glance, the site wasn't what I termed a "social networking site".

I note from the edit history that you had previously added The Student Center to our list, but this was removed by another editor (not myself).

Apologies for the confusion, I should have checked the edit history to see whether it had ever been included. If I'm honest, I didn't know there was an article about The Student Center, either, since I noted the screenshot was only in use on the list page (and was thus orphaned by my removal). I have now reverted List of social networking sites to include The Student Center, and will retract my nomination for the deletion of Image:Studentcenter screenshot.jpg, adding it to the appropriate article.

You may read our inclusion criteria for websites at WP:WEB, and I suggest that you ensure the article establishes the site's notability per these guidelines.

Hopefully this clarifies things! UkPaolo/talk 19:07, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] SATC Detailed Pages

Hi Chuumus,

Great to receive some help on developing this page, its a pretty big undertaking and I appreciate your help.

I especially like the use of pictures to further illustrate some of the plot lines within each episode.

I haven't had a lot of time recently to continue development, but in the long term I hope we'll have a complete transcript.

I probably need to be less descriptive in some of the plot lines.

My only comment on the table is: I think we should bold the title of each episode. I'm uncertain as to the value of documenting the director and writer for each episode.

Maybe some of this should be in the talk page for SATC Detailed ;) Anyway, thanks for your help.

Hi again!

Hi again Chuumus,

Apologises for the late reply, I just bought an apartment and I've spent the past 2 weeks moving. I'm still on dial-up awaiting dsl :)

Yeah I think the short plot descriptions are the best way to go. I will try and curb my writing. As for giving away the plot, hmm I guess this is a "detailed" description of each plot so I don't see a problem with that. I'll take a look at othe detailed plot lines and see what they have.

As for your question surrounding the HBO official guide, I never noticed!

Btw, I checked your profile out, I find it ironic your profile is similar to mine. I'm a hobbiest programmer but have an engineering background, I'm a technical security consultant by day. I've worked in NYC, was over there about 3 months ago for some work - a fun place indeed. People are very friendly to Australians.

Should we continue this convo on the 'detailed list' discussion page? I started it on your profile because I've never contacted anyone before and I wanted to make sure you noticed the message :D

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Kentarokaji.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Kentarokaji.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 19:27, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
