[edit] Upcoming "Legend of Chuck Norris" film or animated series?
I've heard rumors of an upcoming film and/or animated television series derived from the famous "Chuck Norris Facts." There's currently a splash page on legendofchucknorris.com hinting at that fact, plus a teaser on YouTube. This may be worth adding to the article under "Popular Culture." [edit] His twelve rules
Chuck Norris has compiled a personal code that i think should be added but i don't know where or how. here they are:
- I will develop myself to the maximum of my potential in all ways.
- I will forget the mistakes of the past and press on to greater achievements.
- I will always be in a positive frame of mind and convey this feeling to every person that I meet.
- I will continually work at developing love, happiness and loyalty in my family and acknowledge that no other success can compensate for failure in the home.
- I will look for the good in all people and make them feel worthwhile.
- If I have nothing good to say about a person, I will say nothing.
- I will give so much time to the improvement of myself that I will have no time to criticize others.
- I will always be as enthusiastic about the success of others as I am about my own.
- I will maintain an attitude of open-mindedness toward another person's viewpoint while still holding fast to that which I know to be true and honest.
- I will maintain respect for those in authority and demonstrate this respect at all times.
- I will always remain loyal to God, my country, family and my friends.
- I will remain highly goal-oriented throughout my life because that positive attitude helps my family, my country, and myself.
I got these from his official website. what should we do about them? Technobabble1 18:23, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
- Maybe you should post them under the "Remarks" section. They seem very intersting.Ron3090 16:18, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Images
The picture was too weak, as a childhood Chuck Norris fan I had to change it - this "Invasion USA" was a great mindless comedy from 80s. :) --Tigry 05:41, 28 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- I guess, there's enough space to include two images, so I re-added the original photo and moved the movie poster to the filmography section. --fschoenm 22:09, Feb 28, 2005 (UTC)
What Happened too all the images theres only that one picture of him that looks nothing like Chuck Did for most life in the public eye. at least one picture of him with a beard is nessacary. Technobabble1 02:41, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
- Feel free to add a freely-licensed image of Norris with a beard. —Chowbok 15:32, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Citing Resources
Does anyone know of legitimate resources (books, autobiographies, etc) for these facts? The page should have refrences.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 198.174.6.200 (talk • contribs) 04:21, December 9, 2005. ALSO ADD 1979 MOVIE "THE GAME OF DEATH"—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 205.143.204.206 (talk • contribs) 23:08, May 8, 2006.
he was also in dodge ball for a short section.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.197.30.209 (talk • contribs) 18:01, August 9, 2006.
[edit] Landmark
The landmark section is only vaguely related to Mr. Norris. He's not leading the poll and he's only and option because pranksters from the US are adding him to the list of possibilities. Is there any proof there's any 'controversy' about this poll as the section suggests? Smaerd 18:18, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
Well, it was directly mentioned on the Colbert Report, where viewers were told to go to the site, click specific links to open up the vote page, and specifically vote for Stephen Colbert. I'm assuming the votes for Chuck are due to the internet meme or a scripting element making the votes on his behalf. Either way, he's far, far behind and it's quite irrelevant. It should only be on a Colbert Report site. Consequently, I think it should be removed from here.
I agree, the section should be removed, as the Colbert already won the poll. One paragraph telling that Norris was in the lead in such a poll (plus a link to the Northern M0 Danube bridge page) should be enough. Nene 10:09, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
- Have removed the section and added a reference in the "Popular Culture" section. Venky 07:02, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Typo's
Maybe it's nitpicking, but it would be nice if someone would correct his brother's name in the first line under "Beginnings" and add a dot in the last sentence before "Walker, Texas Ranger".—The preceding unsigned comment was added by RypER (talk • contribs) 19:26, August 5, 2006.
There's a misspelling for "receiving" under Chuck Norris' picture. "Chuck Norris reciving the Veteran of the Year award by the U.S. Air Force"
You also forgot to mention that Chuck Norris is God and that his tears cure cancer.
[edit] Ruud Draak?
According to IMDB, Chuck Norris' father was named Ray. Why would a half-Irish, half-Cherokee American have an obviously Dutch name? Any info on this?
- I have no Welsh in me, but Cameron is a Welsh name.Cameron Nedland 17:50, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
-
- Just because his name is Ray doesn't nessecarily mean anything. People don't always name their children after their nationality.Ron3090 16:15, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Iconic status
I noticed that recently PhantomTiger removed the Chuck Norris jokes stating they were jokes...although it is true, I think that they have a very important place in recent pop culture, and should be put in, as they were, a seperate section.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by TheMeerkat311 (talk • contribs) 05:20, September 5, 2006.
They are jokes, and as such have little place in this article. If I'm not mistaken, it already has reference to Norris as a pop-culture icon, we don't need examples of the jokes themselves. OutlandishTeacup 11:20, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Archive
I've archived all talk that has no comments in August or September. Let's try and stay on top of unsigned comments. Remind people to sign and make sure to use the unsigned template, with a date stamp. This makes archiving much easier I found dozens upon dozens of comments in there that were not signed. It took extensive digging to find out who posted what and when to see if it could be archived.--Crossmr 20:01, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] M Norris's lawsuit
Chuck Norris is currently suing NBC, claiming Law and Order are trademarked names for his left and right legs.
I recently ran across a website that described M Norris as suing NBC (NBC) for trademark infringement over their television show Law and Order. I guess the jist of the suit is that Norris's fists are trade marked, respectively, as Law and Order. I can't find the website any longer, but maybe some mention of this suit should be made in the main article? Has anyone seen something making refrence to this fact? I did a quick google news check, but couldn't find a thing. Thanks!Sup dudes?[[User:Kitler005]] 10:55, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
I could have sworn that the lawsuit over Law and Order is just another joke (Chuck Norris Fact).

AAAAAAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! You just made my night.
...Although at the same time, I'm vaguely worried now about the general intelligence of some wikipedia contributors.
Wow. Yes, it's another Chuck Norris fact. I know them by heart:] It would be pretty funny if Chuck were actually doing that, though. --DevilSavior 00:25, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] High School

[edit] "receiving" is misspelled in the top right pic

[edit] On The Shaky Quality of This Article's Research
Since when does Tae Kwon Do have a "4,500 year-long documented history of Tae Kwon Do"? You definitely need a citation - and "no" - comic books do not count... Stevenmitchell 21:32, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Chuck Norris Facts
I would like to know more about this Chuck Norris Facts thing. Perhaps in this article, perhaps in a separate one. Could someone please give more examples (currently there's only one in the article)? and how they are usually applied? thanks from a non-native speaker 62.178.193.144 22:15, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Chuck Norris as Reserve Police Officer
I once saw a TV story which noted that Chuck Norris was a reserve police officer for an agency in Texas, and was wondering if anyone knew about this? Pyrogen 20:08, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] "4,500 year-long documented history of Tae Kwon Do"
The word "Taekwondo" has only existed since 1955, so this would have to refer to the history of Korean martial arts in general. Whether "4500" is accurate is a different matter. Shawnc 01:41, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] "BJJ blackbelt"
This needs to be verified. We do know he trained with Rickson Gracie and Helio Gracie in the 80's[1] and it's been suggested that he received a black belt from Jean-Jaques Machado but there is no mention of this on Machado's website.[2] Shawnc 04:46, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
