Church of Hawaii
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Church of Hawaii, also called the Hawaii Reformed Catholic Church, was established by Kamehameha IV and Emma, his queen consort, devout members of the Church of England. The Church of Hawaii became the national church of the Kingdom of Hawaii and a member of the Anglican Communion, led by the bishop of Hawaii in residence at the Cathedral Church of Saint Andrew. With the overthrow of the monarchy in 1893 and United States annexation in 1898, the Church of Hawaii was dissolved and territorial jurisdiction was transferred to the Episcopal Church in the United States of America.
