[edit] History

CDSP was founded in 1893, in San Mateo, California, after the gift of four acres of land, funds for construction of the first building, and an endowment for a professorship.

Several of the seminary buildings were destroyed in the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, and the seminary moved in 1912 to a new building on the grounds of Grace Cathedral.

The seminary moved to its current home in 1930.
