Chunian

Chunian is a historical city of Punjab, Pakistan. It is loacted about 70 km south of Lahore, the Punjab capital. It is the headquarters of a tehsil or revnue sub-division of the same name in Kasur District. The sub-division is known for the Changa Manga forest, the largest single plantation of trees in Paksitan, and the Chunian Industrial Estate, one of the largest concentration of manufactuing units in the country.

Chunian city (1998 census pop. 47,600) is located on the Pattoki-Kasur Road, and constitutes an important junction of local roads. It is a busy regional market of farm produce. Chunian is the highest city of this region.In Chunian There is a river Bias(which have now become Dirty water stream) which is said to be the part of River Satlug.And Chunian has sunken 6 time because of flood due to this river so it is the highest region of District Kasur. There is a court in Chunian.That is the main reason of the popularity of the Chunian city and there is also a cantonment in chunian,There is a institute known as APS .This is one of the branches of APS System in Pakistan. Two students of this institute has been recognised on international level after winning a IQ competition.They belong to the APS&C Chunian Cantt Institute. There names are Salman Ahmed Bukhari and Wasim Khan.Both won the quiz extra-ordinarily.They were chosen from the millions of other participants for the prizes.They belong to chunian (salman) and Pattoki (Wasim).Chunian is now developing like most of the other Pakistan's cities.
