Chuhuiv

Ukrainian: Чугуїв, Russian: Чугуeв, translit. Chuguev) is a city in the Kharkiv Oblast (province) of eastern Ukraine. Serving as the administrative center of the Chuhuivskyi Raion (district), the city itself is directly subordinate to the oblast, and is located at around .
Chuhuiv (The estimated population is 36,789 (as of 2001).
There is a notable food industry in the city, which particularly focuses on producing mayonnaise.

The city is most famous for being home of a major Soviet Air Force base and a military pilot's academy. There is currently a Ukrainian Air Force base in the city.
Generally, city has been an important military point since Cossack times.
There was a Soviet Red Army's Artillery School (a military academy) in Chuhuyiv before World War II.
Chuhuiv is also the birthplace of Ilya Repin, a famous Ukrainian/Russian 19th century painter.
