Chudiyan is a upcoming film to be released in 2007. The film is directed by Pradeep Sarkar who earlier directed the critically acclaimed film Parineeta and will be produced by Aditya Chopra. This is Sarkar's first film with the Yash Raj Films banner. The film stars Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Konkona Sen Sharma, Jaya Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Kirron Kher and Farida Jalal.

Recent reports state that Jaya Bachchan will play the role of the mother to Rani Mukerji's whilst Abhishek Bachchan will play her love interest. [1]

  • Vidya Balan was earlier offered the role that eventually went to Konkona Sen Sharma. Also, Saif Ali Khan was earlier approached for the role that went to Abhishek Bachchan. [3]

  • A song in the film entitled "Hum To Aise Hain Bhaiyya" will be picturised on Tinnu Anand. [4]
  • This is Jaya Bachchan's first film in three years, her last film being Nikhil Advani's Kal Ho Naa Ho.
  • While shooting the film at Varanasi, bodyguards of Rani Mukerji starting beating media persons and fans, chasing them away from the shooting spot of the film. A political and media storm followed, as various groups insisted that Mukerji should have stopped the security guards. Rani then apologized to the media, citing that the media were trying to get to close to both her and Konkona Sen Sharma. [5]
