Chris Airola received a BS in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Chemistry from Marquette University in 1996, where he specialized in simulation and human body kinematics.
He then moved to Seattle, WA, USA and began working, as a Research Engineer, at the University of Washington's Human Interface Technology Lab (HITLab). He developed and managed numerous projects in his 5 year tenure at the HITLab, some major ones involved surgery simulators, wearable computing, driving simulators, interactive home networks, and interactive 8 channel audio systems.
Chris is currently CTO and co-founder of Red Llama, Inc. He initiated and helped develop Red Llama's SimPraxis™ interactive simulation software platform. He continues to move SimPraxis to new heights.
From 2002-2005, Chris was CTO and co-founder of Static Factory Media, a creative services and web software development company in Seattle, WA, USA. He was integral in securing Angel funding for the company. He constructed Static Factory's network and technology infrastructure from the ground up, while creating custom solutions for each of its clients. Static Factory's multi-server infrastructure supports over 120 client's websites, music, video, press kits, Internet radio shows, and imagery. Chris led the development of integrated software packages for Static Factory's online promotion and distribution of its clients content.
He has exhibited some of his multi-modal interactive art installations in the Whitney Museum of American Art (New York City, NY, USA), the Bellevue Arts Museum (Bellevue, WA, USA), Burningman (Black Rock City, NV, USA), Cornish College of the Arts (Seattle, WA, USA), and the University of Washington.
