Chrome (film)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chrome is a 2005 science fiction action film from Pendragon Pictures. The film stars Katie Tomlinson as the main character Chrome, and includes producer Susan Goforth and Anthony Piana in the supporting roles. The movie was planned to begin filming right after director Timothy Hines was to finish his $42 million dollar film H.G. Wells' The War of the Worlds but due to the events of September 11th, this caused production on the film to be shut down, and Chrome was immediately pushed up into production. Katie Tomlinson and Susan Goforth, who were originally supposed to star in The War of the Worlds took on the roles in Chrome, not knowing how long it was going to be until production on War was going to start again.

According to the Internet Movie Database, principal photography on the feature was completed in 2002, but as of February 2006 the film remains unreleased.

[edit] Story

The story follows Earth in the year 2131. The government is controlling a race of enslaved humanoid robots, who have feelings and emotions just as humans do. The robot workers were originally created to help with hard labor that would have normally been too difficult. Now, the race of robots is under labor and hard work, and being pushed so beyond their power. Chrome, a brand new robot in the work force, sees exactly what has been going on and plans to overthrow the government. Plenty of other robots are behind her, and want to take over their totalitarian masters as well. But with sociopathic robot killers, Mistress El, and Colonel Zet quick on their tails, Chrome will have to work fast to save herself and her friends.
