[edit] Career

[edit] Beginning

Bauman was trained at the CZW wrestling school along with childhood friend GQ. Bauman made his in-ring debut on September 22, 2001, under the name Chri$ Ca$h at "They Said It Couldn't Be Done... Again" in Smyrna, Delaware, defeating GQ and fellow CZW Wrestling Academy student Ian Knoxx. Bauman would spend the rest of the year, as well as early 2002, wrestling with and against GQ. The two had a match at "Out with the Old, In with the New" on March 9 that ended in a "no contest". Following the match, Cash wrestled sporadically for CZW for the rest of the year.

[edit] 2003

In early 2003, Cash feuded with Sonjay Dutt and Ruckus. It started on January 18, 2003 when Cash wrestled Dutt in a match to determine the #1 contender for the CZW Junior Heavyweight championship. During the match, both wrestlers ended up hanging from the rafters. Cash fell, while Dutt let go, dropping an elbow on him. Dutt won the match and faced Ruckus for the title on February 8, with Cash as the special guest referee. When Ruckus went for a superplex with Dutt, Cash knocked both wrestlers off the turnbuckle sending them to the arena floor. Cash then declared the match a “no contest”. The following month, Cash wrestled in Ruckus in a match that ended in a double disqualification. Cash, Dutt, and Ruckus would square off again in the first round of CZW’s annual junior heavyweight tournament Best of the Best Dutt defeated Ruckus and Cash in the match, and continued to advance on in the tournament, but lost in the finals to B-Boy. On May 10, Cash finally got a shot at the Junior Heavyweight Championship, but was unable to defeat Ruckus.

Following his lose to Ruckus, Cash faced GQ on June 14, but lost after GQ punched him with brass knuckles . The next month, the two would face off again in a 4-Way match that also involved John Dahmer and Z-Barr. The two wrestled each other again the next month in a gauntlet match that also involved Sonjay Dutt, Nick Berk, Niles Young, Derek Frazier and Deranged. Cash eliminated GQ in the first match, but lost in the second match to Berk.

At CZW’s year end event, Cage of Death 5, Cash wrestled Joker in an “Ultraviolent Ladder” match.

[edit] 2004

On January 17, Cash competed in a “Tables and Ladders” match against Sabian, Ruckus, and Joker. After winning the match, Sabian, along with Ruckus, attacked Cash and Joker. The next month, Cash attempted to get his revenge on Sabian and Ruckus in a tag team match with Joker as his partner, but Joker turned on him. Sabian, Ruckus and Joker continued to attack Cash until Sonjay Dutt and Jimmy Jacobs came to his aid. On March 6, Cash, Dutt and Jacobs competed in a six-man tag team match against Blackout (as the team of Sabian, Ruckus and Joker were now known), but was once again on the losing end of the match.

On July 10, Cash competed in the fourth annual Best of the Best tournament, but once again lost in the first round. Later that night, he competed in a 4-way against Jimmy Rave, Jack Evans, and Ruckus. Fourteen days later he competed in the Tournament of Death in a “Light Tubes and Ladders” match, losing to JC Bailey.

On September 11, Cash competed in a ladder match agains JC Bailey and Nate Webb. The stipulation for the match was that the winner would choose and lead a team for Cage of Death VI. Cash, after winning the match, chose JC Bailey as his first teammate.

At the next show, Cash and Bailey won a tag team gauntlet match granting them a right to compete for the CZW Tag Team Champions. Later that night Cash and Bailey wrestled the champions, Blackout (Ruckus and Sabian), and won the match. However, Maven Bentley (the “lawyer” for Blackout) said Cash, who scored the pinfall, wasn’t the legal man and reversed the decision.

On December 11, 2004, at Cage of Death VI, Cash and Bailey, along with Nate Webb and Sexxy Eddy (dubbed “Team Ca$h) defeated BLACKOUT to become CZW Tag Team Champions.

[edit] 2005

Team Ca$h’s reign as champions would not be a long one, as they lost the titles two shows later. On February 5, 2005 H8 Club (Nick Gage and Justice Pain) defeated Team Ca$h (represented by Chri$ Ca$h and Nate Webb), when JC Bailey turned on Team Ca$h because he was upset about not being given a chance to defend the titles since winning them.

Cash's lose on February 5 was the last time he wrestled in CZW. Scheduled to face JC Bailey on March 12, Cash was replaced by Ian Rotten after being involved in an automobile accident, and would not return before his untimely death.

[edit] Death

On August 18, 2005, Christopher Bauman passed away after being involved in a motorcycle accident that claimed the lives of two other people, one of them being his cousin. CZW held a memorial show in his honor on September 10. The show raised $5,000 which John Zandig gave to Bauman’s family. Zandig also announced that CZW would run an annual event in his memory.
