Christi Malthouse

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Christi Malthouse (born 1976) is an Australian television personality.

Malthouse is the daughter of Australian rules football legend and current coach of the Collingwood Magpies Michael (Mick) and is a journalist for Network Ten. In addition to her boundary-riding role for Ten's Australian Football League coverage, Malthouse has also been a sports presenter for Ten News and appeared on shows such as 9am and Before The Game. She currently hosts the football lifestyle show Beyond the Boundary.

Her fans say she has done a lot to bring women into the usually male dominated media of Australian rules football. Her detractors say she is only in such a prominent role by being the daughter of someone famous, rather than forging a long career in football media for herself, being the fact that she is inexperienced.[citation needed]

The glamorous sports reporter was a star attraction at a lavish launch event held on 13 November to announce details of the 2007 FORMULA 1™ ING Australian Grand Prix. Christi will be competing in the Celebrity Challenge race at the Albert Park race track in Melbourne from 15 - 18 March 2007.
