Christchurch Castle

Christchurch Castle located in Christchurch, Dorset, England is a Norman Motte and Bailey castle, now in ruins. A couple of the keep walls remain, surrounded by a rectangular moat. The castle was destroyed during the English Civil War.

Nearby is a domestic Norman dwelling, known as the Constables house, which was built inside the original castle bailey. Much of the stonework survives, including a rare example of a Norman Chimney.
