Chrissy Conway (born 1979) is an American CCM and pop singer. She is most renowned for her contributions to Christian music with the girl band, ZOEgirl.

[edit] Early Life
Chrissy was born in 1979 in a small town in southern New Jersey. She had a sister and a brother. When she was four, she started ballet class. Fortunately, her schools had amazing theatre arts programs that she jumped right into. She spent all of her summers in theatre camps and all of her school years in after-school music and theatre programs.
The next fall, her parents got divorced and it turned her world upside down. She was devastated for months. She ended up moving in with her mom and her step dad. They devoted all of their time to help her achieve her dreams. She was so blessed to have people like them in her life, supporting her all the way. She know she couldn't have done it without them.
[edit] Initial Music Career
She took every opportunity that was placed in front of her to get better. When she was 14, she was placed under a talent agency when she started auditioning for movies and commercials. She performed on local TV talent shows and she even got to be an extra in a movie.
This went on for a while until she heard about an R&B group that needed a member. She auditioned and made it. It was her, Sharon, and Alecia (the artist now know as P!nk). They moved down to Atlanta, GA where she was introduced to the record agency. They signed a deal with LaFace Records and made an album. After a few years, the label realized they wanted to take P!nk solo and dropped the group.
[edit] Becoming a Christian
During all of this, she became a Christian. A friend of hers took her to a crusade where she heard the Gospel for the first time. She gave her life to Jesus that night. She moved back home to NJ where she found a home church and started reading the Bible.
Just before she was about to sign a solo record deal with Def Jam Records, she prayed to God. For the first time she asked him to show her His will for her life. She didn't want sing for her glory anymore, but for His.

She got her answer the very next day. Kristin Swinford (now Kristin Schweain) called her out of the blue, asking her if she wanted to join a Christian pop group. She had never even met her before. She knew it was her answer to prayer. She said yes and immediately moved to Nashville.
ZOEgirl was then formed, and it was made up of Chrissy, Alisa Childers and Kristin Schweain. They made their entrance onto the scene with their debut album in 2000, which had four different top five radio hits. In 2002, ZOEgirl was given a Dove Award for the top New Artist of the Year. Since then they have released three more albums and have one extended play disc.

Two years after she moved to Nashville, she met James Katina. She had always loved The Katinas and their music but she had never met them. She started going to a new church in 2002 and that's where her life changed forever. She was introduced to James by a friend. They started hanging out at the recording studio, writing songs together and going out to eat with friends after church. They got married May 9th, 2004 on a beach.

Chrissy gave birth to a baby girl named Haylee Raine Katina on August 7th, 2006 @ 5:14 pm. Haylee weighed 8 lbs, 15 ounces and was 20 and 1/2 inches long.
