Chris Worden

Chris Worden (born January 18, 1984 in Guelph, Ontario, Canada) is an improvising musician and sound artist. He has been active since 2000 as an experimental musician in Canada and Europe, and performs (or has performed) with SAUNA, The Red Armband, Knurl_(band), Fancie/Elisabeth Wood, Tomasz Krakowiak, Mike Hansen, Keiji Haino, Pau Torres, Jesse Stewart, Istvan Kantor, and others. In 2005, he began a project with photographer and textile artist Sabine Schlunk, with plans to release a DVD entitled 'WEISS', consisting of a performance for Worden's improvised guitar playing and Schlunk's photography. In 2006, a piece by Worden titled 'This Constraint Is Only Imagined, I'm Sure' was selected for inclusion in an exhibit, magazine and CD issued by the University of Dundee in Dundee, Scotland.
In 2004, he joined the staff of C3R Records, an experimental and noise music record label founded by Zach Murr and based in Fergus, Ontario, Canada. The label has released works by Merzbow, Maja Ratkje and Lasse Marhaug, Tsurubami (a sub-unit of Acid Mothers Temple), Gordon Monahan, Jesse Stewart, and Michael Evans + Jeff Arnal.
In 2005, along with Gordon Monahan and Laura Kikauka, Worden co-founded the Electric Eclectics Festival in Meaford, Ontario, Canada. The first Electric Eclectics took place from August 4 to August 6, 2006, and featured over 25 artists, including Tony Conrad, Alexander Hacke, and Yuko Nexus6.
