Chris West

Chris West (born 1954) is a British writer.
Chris West was educated at Wellington College, Berkshire, where in 1967 he met Mike Southon, who was to become his co-author. He also played drums for The Oxcentrics, a Dixieland jazz band that Mike Southon fronted for a while. He worked in the City and then went to the London School of Economics as a mature student to study economics and philosophy.
West travelled in China, leading to his first book, Journey to the Middle Kingdom in 1991. He then wrote four crime novels. He has also been a travel reviewer for the Independent on Sunday newspaper and has written for many other journals as well.
More recently, West has concentrated on books aimed at entrepreneurs with Mike Southon, the first of which was The Beermat Entrepreneur. He also gives presentations with Mike Southon on this subject.
West is married with one daughter and lives near Cambridge.
