Chris Reason

Chris Reason is a reporter for Seven News in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

Reason has previously worked for The Redland Times and The Sun newspapers. He has also worked for Nine Network in the Gold Coast for less than a year.

Reason came to Seven News in 1990 in Brisbane as a crime reporter. Reason was appointed to Seven's London bureau in 1992, the youngest in the network's history. In 1993 he, became bureau chief, a major promotion. Four years later, Reason returned to Australia, to Seven's Sydney newsroom as a Senior Network Reporter.
In 2002, Reason was announced as co-anchor of the revamped Sunrise alongside Melissa Doyle. In October, it was discovered that Reason had a cancerous tumour behind his kidney, forcing him to take a leave of absence. He was replaced by David Koch. Four years earlier he had undergone treatment for another growth.
After recovering, a year later Reason became anchor of Seven's Morning News. For a short time in 2005, Reason was co-host of Weekend Sunrise, but Deal or No Deal host Andrew O'Keefe took over.
While reporting for Seven News, Reason has reported for many major stories, including reporting from Thailand after the Boxing Day Tsunami, the 1997 Thredbo landslide and the East Timor chaos in 2000.
Reason resides in Sydney and is married to TEN News personality, Kathryn Robinson. he had previously been involved with Sky news Anchor Jacinta tynan who he once reffered to as a Sucubus whilst hosting Sunday Sunrise
