Chris Kacher
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Chris D. Kacher is a nuclear physicist and stock investor profiled in the book Conversations With Top Traders by Kevin Marder. Dr. Kacher received national attention when he achieved triple digit percentage returns every year from 1995 to 2000, six years in a row. He is the protégé of William O'Neil of CANSLIM method investing fame, and achieved over a 70,000% compounded growth return in under 5 years which works out to a return of almost 300% annually, a national record. He also sidestepped one of the worst bear markets in history from 2000-2002, with a slightly negative return in the single digits in 2001, and a positive return in 2002. In conjunction with his investment career, Dr. Kacher helped to discover element 110 and discovery confirm element 106 which his research group named Seaborgium.
[edit] Career
From 1994 to 1995, Dr. Chris Kacher helped to discover element 110 and did a confirmation discovery on element 106 which his research group named Seaborgium after his Nobel Laureate mentor Professor Glenn T. Seaborg. Dr. Kacher holds a PhD in nuclear chemistry from University of California Berkeley and has published over 50 scientific research articles.
From 1996 to 2002, Dr. Kacher worked closely with William O'Neil, recently profiled as one of the four greatest investors of all time in Lessons from the Greatest Stock Traders of All Time, by John Boik. O’Neil also is founder of Investor's Business Daily. Dr. Kacher and O’Neil travelled the country to teach the CANSLIM investment methodology to investors and mutual fund managers. Dr. Kacher’s key responsibilities at William O'Neil + Co. Inc were 1) to act as a principle portfolio manager for part of O’Neil’s personal wealth, valued at over a billion dollars, 2) to help Investor’s Business Daily staff writers with their Investor’s Business Daily Investor’s Corner column on the stock market of which he appeared in several, 3) to lead stock market related research projects, and 4) to advise that firm's 500 institutional clients on individual stock selection.
In 2003, Dr. Kacher, once a child prodigy concert pianist with Suzuki Method Institute under Harlow Mills, took time off to compose music. He also began to devote himself to philanthropic causes focused on cleaning up corrupt and inhumane governments due to horrifying experiences he had witnessed firsthand in his own country. He has discussed future plans to make a docudrama based on this part of his life, and hopes to interest his director friend Bryan Singer.
From 2004 to present, Dr. Kacher founded Ayn Rand Holdings, his holding company where he invests his own capital in various stock markets around the world. On occasion, he offers his stock market expertise and portfolio management services to a limited number of investors.
